Review: The Prom Queen - Book #15 Fear Street Series - RL Stine - March 1992 Recently I saw that Netflix was bringing RL Stine's series Fear Street to Television and one of the books they were looking at showcasing was The Prom Queen. Growing up in the late 90s about 96-98, I was a fan of RL Stine's book series Goosebumps. They were my first venture into horror fiction. Today's book was interesting to read as the publication release happened when I was four years old and didn't turn five till July 1992.  As a teen, I skipped over Fear Street and focused my attention on the Point Horror books. The Prom Queen gave me 90s feels as we take a wander back to Shadyside where two females have been found murdered and one of them their body has been discovered in the woods of Fear Street. Review: The Reappearance of Rachel Price - Holly Jackson - April 2024 Bel is turning 18 this year and can't wait to escape the small town as her whole life has been overshadowed by an event that happened when she was two years old. Sixteen years ago, Bel was found in a car on the side of the road and her mum Rachel had vanished. Her Dad went to prison, but then was found Not Guilty and it has just been the two of them. Bel doesn't even remember her mum at all. Now Sixteen years later, a documentary is being made about her mum and it has brought up a lot of emotions. For Bel, it should make her happy to chat about her mum but the only emotion she feels is anger. I have to admit I didn't enjoy Bel's character in this book as she does come across as a spoilt brat right the way through and it was so irritating. Review: A Quantum Love Story - Mike Chen - January 2024 You know how some days, you try half a dozen books and nothing clicks, and then you will finally find a book that clicks with you and you can read it in one sitting? That was how it was with Mike Chen's A Quantum Love Story. This book had initially caught my attention with the STEM aspect though I may not be that way orientated, I do find STEM novels great and enjoyable. The other thing that surprised me was that it was written by a male author as normally I have found the men tend to stick with writing adventure or thriller novels. A Quantum Love Story had a Groundhog Day mixed with a Back to the Future sort of vibe going on. Review: Folie A Deux - Book #2 Riverside Oak Mystery - LL Hunter - March 2024 One of my favorite YA thriller authors is LL Hunter and she is also one of my auto-buy authors. I will read anything she releases in the YA thriller vein as they are fast reads and easy to get sucked into. At the end of Book#1, we read that Amber's life turned upside down as she was transported to Paradise Academy. A school that trains students as Assassins. Now in Book #2 she is coming to terms with that her whole life was not as it seemed and that her boyfriend Talys is Indigo/ Blue - the son of her father's arch-nemesis and that when they met he had been tasked with killing her father. He never meant to fall in love with her, which is another thing that has painted a target on Amber aka Red's back as someone else is in love with Talys and is prepared to kill for him and set Amber up for murder.
